Description of Oxyfluorfen 23.5% EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate):

1. Product Overview:
Oxyfluorfen 23.5% EC is a selective pre- and post-emergence herbicide used to control annual broadleaf and grassy weeds in a wide range of crops. It belongs to the diphenyl ether group of herbicides and acts by inhibiting protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), an enzyme involved in chlorophyll synthesis. This causes membrane disruption and ultimately the death of susceptible weeds.

3. Mode of Action:
Oxyfluorfen acts primarily by contact action. When applied to soil or foliage, it forms a protective layer on the soil surface or damages cell membranes of emerged weeds. Upon light exposure, treated plants undergo rapid cell destruction leading to desiccation and death of weeds.
